Worked collaboratively with healthcare teams and patients on improvement activities to ensure the practice of safety behaviors of a highly reliable culture committed to delivering high quality care in a safe environment of care with an emphasis on patient experience through LEAN process improvements and as determined by HCAHPS scores and Joint Commission surveys. ● Served as inpatient nursing unit quality coach for implementation of evidence based leadership (Studer), LEAN process improvement, and patient feedback resolution using Safety Event and Feedback Manager software.

Develop and deliver comprehensive safe patient handling and mobilization training programs to support sales and growth. ● Member of team awarded contract for delivering safe patient handling equipment and training to all Ascension hospitals (~115 hospitals).

Worked collaboratively with healthcare teams to provide quality care and exceptional patient experience as measured by public reported Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) results.● Selected as project manager for company wide team responsible for developing behavioral standards (Humancare PROMISE) for all Seton associates to ensure delivery of high quality care as part of evidence-based leadership. ● Led project team to address concerns with linen delivery issues and switch to disposable products to meet budget targets.

Managed safety, environment of care, emergency management, and compliance programs as required by OSHA, Joint Commission, EPA, DOT, and applicable company policies and goals to improve safety for healthcare worker and patient.● Advised leadership and lead team of 35 front line safety coaches to achieve Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star Worksite level at the first and only Level One Trauma Center in the United States.● Nominated to represent healthcare worker safety in OSHA Region VI Healthcare Stakeholder group as advocate to improve worker safety as healthcare is currently the worst industry for worker injuries.● Selected to work with Consulting Group hired by OSHA and CMS to analyze and develop injury and illness prevention programs to improve healthcare worker and patient safety as currently posted on OSHA website for healthcare/hospital safety. ● Selected to present Healthcare Workplace Violence best practices to 17th Texas Safety Summit Annual Workplace Safety & Health Conference based on 20% reduction of workplace violence injuries from patient to healthcare worker. This work included as best practices in chapter 25 focused on Workplace Violence in the 6th Edition of Leadership and Management in Nursing by Pat Yoder-Wise.

Developed and implemented compliance programs as required by OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable company policies and goals for a variety of clients.● Selected as on site consultant to advise Exelon Corporation’s Corporate Safety Department on best safety practices through their change management process. Led development of Target Zero, a structured program focused on performance and improvement by developing measureable action plans to eliminate all injuries and illnesses.

Developed and implemented comprehensive safety and training programs as required by OSHA for a variety of clients in Pennsylvania● Managed a 24-hour comprehensive community noise monitoring survey conducted in response to local residents’ complaint and a township enforcement notice. Provided recommendations to reduce noise levels and provided expert legal testimony in litigation between the residents of Dallas Township and Pulverman Precision Metal Components resulting in no fines. ● Adjunct Instructor through the Penn State Hazelton Continuing and Distance Education Program for courses relating to safety committee operation and program management including OSHA 10 hour, 30 hour courses, and hazardous waste operations (HazWoper) training.

Served as customer service representative to ensure delivery of custom made air purification units, coordinated all safety, security, contractor, and property conservation activities to ensure regulatory compliance. ● Achieved a 5.5% reduction in operating costs at MeadWestvaco Charleston Technical Center.● Selected to serve as a member to develop a standard safety program for four research development facilities within MeadWestvaco as well as member of Corporate Safety Compliance audit team to ensure compliance with company’s 13 Safety Program Elements and OSHA standards.● Conducted successful research and development acrylic and tall oil rosin chemistry utilizing both laboratory and pilot-scale equipment to evaluate new polymer to improve performance of toners and inks for plant production.● Provided merger and integration program support by assessing safety compliance status and operational efficiencies of newly acquired divisions and companies.
