EARLY LEARNING NATION is an independent online magazine devoted to early learning that was developed through an initiative of the Bezos Family Foundation. It covers the science of the developing brain, the challenges and successes in early learning, related policy, community building and more and reaches around 10,000 readers daily. Its work is shared among other Bezos Family Foundation programs as well as other top foundations and early learning nonprofits. My niche at ELN has been to translate academic research on language, social and brain development and other issues affecting children in their early years into relatable articles for a more general readership.

Since moving to Seattle in 2015, I have copyedited/proofread a full-length feature film script and its treatment, copyedited a complex, multi-page website in the health/medical space, have completed magazine articles dealing with sustainability and the local food movement, edited and proofread an airline executive's 45,000-word inspirational memoir aimed at minority youth and edited another business executive's memoir. A challenging and varied list connected by my desire to do work I find interesting and worthwhile.

By operating unencumbered by the constraints inherent in most government, for-profit and advocacy organizations, PureBlue has the flexibility to identify and prioritize water problems, gather and collaborate with diverse partners to tackle problems head-on and stimulate innovation in all areas associated with sustainable, healthy water systems.

During my tenure at Ogden Publications, I held positions as managing editor for Mother Earth News (flagship magazine and one of the oldest and best-loved environmental magazines in the country); editor in chief of our Home, Health and Traditions department, comprising Grit magazine, The Herb Companion, Herbs for Health, American Life & Traditions, and several other small titles); returning to Mother Earth News in 2012 as senior editor.

I started as City Editor for the Star-Tribune, Wyoming's statewide daily newspaper, was promoted to Assistant Managing Editor, in charge of business and features coverage. I then was promoted to Executive Editor of the newspaper in 1999.
