Karen Couf-Cohen Email and Phone Number
Karen Couf Cohen Public Relations is a small boutique-style PR and communications consultancy. I have been doing public relations for over 25 years, ever since my first placement landed my client on an award-winning national talk show! I was young and determined, and while the experience was amazing – it taught me a few things: be prepared, think things through thoroughly, and anticipate the “what if.” I have been anticipating the “what if” and showing up prepared for clients for over twenty years. I have worked in various settings: national magazines, PR and Communications agencies, and as an independent consultant. Through my consultancy, I have provided writing, marketing, and public relations services to other healthcare institutions, municipalities, independent businesses, and faith-based organizations. I see possibilities where others see roadblocks, and I believe in asking the hard questions. For instance, in 2001, my hometown, the Village of Franklin, was a community without a soul. I saw how other communities celebrated summer, for example, with concerts in the park, and various other community engagements. I proposed a music in the parks program called Music on the Green to our city council. Once approved, I set about developing a non-profit 501C3 with fundraising, promoting, public relations, press releases, and sponsorship proposals to fund this brainchild (since the community was limited on parks and recreational funding). Fast forward 20 years and this program is still going strong. More importantly, it had a residual benefit– the community now has “movies on the green,” a farmer’s market on the green, and a variety of other programs that give our town a sense of place and community connection. I work with clients that (want to) make a difference. I have represented clients in the retail, real estate, nonprofit, faith-based organizations, entertainment, healthcare, social service agencies, municipalities, video gaming, and exhibit design industries. My years of media relations offer clients and the media skillful, timely, relevant, and useful (news) content. I don't give up 'till it works! Over the last five years, I have expanded my skillset to include strategic communications, graphic design, and branding support. I am currently studying for the APR Accreditation in Public Relations.

Founder - Music On The GreenFranklin Council Of Fine And Performing Arts Dec 2000 - Aug 2016Franklin Village, MichiganAs a community organizer, my history with community service began when I developed and founded Music on the Green, a non-profit 401c3 organization built from the ground up with the support of a dedicated committee -- to bring music in the park and a stronger sense of community to the Franklin area and beyond.
