From UX to UI, web development, marketing, and everything in between. Technology is key to the success of my career journey. In my previous role at RED Academy, I was fortunate to join their early stages of growth. Over the following 3 years, I contributed to the success of operations while the company expanded internationally. I grew my love for the tech education industry through RED and was able to build a unique digital skillset. Working multiple roles led me to my first management position where I built relationships and worked with multiple teams (locally and globally) to action the vision of the company. As a Community and Project Manager, I had to be a democratic thinker, implementing a human-centred approach for all stakeholder relationships. I grew an impactful community for many years, defining culture and managing partner relationships among start-ups and not-for-profits looking for high-quality pro-bono digital work from skilled students. Through these partnerships, we helped build prototypes/projects; multiple mobile-responsive websites, native apps and digital marketing strategies. My role was to oversee project deliverables to be delivered on time. After RED, I embarked once again on a journey incorporating my values into the tech education ecosystem. I joined Under the GUI, a leading kids coding school for students grades 1-12 where we created an environment that inspires kids to innovate, think critically, and help make them feel comfortable with technology and game development. My latest journey was with Code for Canada which is a national nonprofit that enables Canada's governments (i.e. City of Toronto, RCMP, NRCAN and more) to deliver better digital services and empowers communities to solve civic challenges. My team impacted many government innovators, communities and civic technologists, so they could work together to build a better nation. Now I am working in the public sector for the first time and currently collaborating with digital government teams. My first role in the Canadian public service as a Junior Project Manager will help me deliver more projects while enhancing digital capacity and transformation inside government.
