POSITION SUMMARY:Under general supervision, follows established system test process from planning through execution to ensure that all applications meet requirements and user interface standards. The primary objective for this position is to create &/or update detailed test cases to ensure that the application functions as outlined in project documentation (e.g. use cases, design documents) and Medavie Blue Cross standards documents (e.g. Reference Architecture). Also to participate in the execution of system testing, assess results of tests, and work with developers and QC Senior Analyst to address issues.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Participate in defining test casesAdd detailed steps and test data requirements to defined system test casesSetup required hardware/software and plan the preparation of test data in multiple environmentsBundle and assign components of work to QC Junior Analyst(s)Participate in test case execution & documentation of results; submit daily test results to QC Sr AnalystIdentify & record descriptive defects; provide additional detail to facilitate problem resolution as neededExecute automated system tests; tabulate and assess resultsReport status and progress of problem resolution; escalate areas of concernDefine and execute smoke test for each software build; accept/reject build based on resultsPlan and define regression suite of testsFor smaller projects, assist in strategy & planning for the system test effort
