About Kristy Crabtree

Kristy Crabtree has championed information management and technology innovation in the humanitarian and development field for over fifteen years. She started her career in education and public health in the Peace Corps, before getting her Master’s in International Law and Human Rights from New York University. Since then, she has developed and implemented diverse digital initiatives and data systems in various humanitarian and development contexts with partners such as UNFPA, UN Women and IRC. Her expertise extends to the development and deployment of mobile applications, radio segments, podcasts, animations, remote capacity building programs, and digital literacy initiatives. Currently, she’s the department leader for technology in programs in IRC’s Crisis Response, Recovery and Development department, where she steers the strategic application of technology within programs and oversees the technical standards, methodologies, and tools employed globally by IRC for technology in programs.She is based in Seattle with her partner and daughter.
