Regional Counsel
CurrentLead the attorneys and legal professionals in the Office of Regional Counsel and serve as in-house legal counsel to the Regional Administrator and EPA Region 8 management and staff on matters arising under all environmental laws administered by the EPA, including the Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and CERCLA. ORC lawyers are responsible for civil and criminal enforcement of environmental laws, defending agency actions against administrative and judicial challenges, and providing legal counseling to its program clients. In addition to the environmental laws administered by the EPA, ORC provides legal expertise on statutes relevant to EPA's responsibilities, including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), and Endangered Species Act (ESA); and, other legal areas that significantly affect Region 8's operations, such as Indian law, federal ethics requirements, employment law, grants and contracts, procurement, and public records laws.
