As a senior policy advisor focused on Poverty Reduction, Education and an Inuit Nunangat University, I am creating policy and advocacy which aims to improve the place of Canada’s Inuit. I provide recommendations to improve policy and associated outcomes for Inuit and act as a liaison between government departments, Inuit organizations and non-government organizations. I develop policy, manage numerous projects in partnership with regions, federal departments, and consultants.I also coordinate and facilitate designated program activities in close cooperation with Inuit regions, ITK staff and federal/provincial/territorial stakeholders.

In addition to my role as a senior policy advisor, I have taken on additional duties as an acting manager for the policy shop of Economic Development, Education and Culture. This role involves a more integral relationship building aspect of working with committees, land claim organizations, and government stakeholders, as well as team management and administrative duties. In addition, I continue to grow and support the development of policy throughout our team while supporting Senior and Policy advisors working on a variety of projects and initiatives.

As E2C Program Manager, I developed and delivered Students on Ice Foundations newest program, E2C. I supported and provided guidance to local program Coordinators in northern communities in the development and implementation of the E2C programming in community which supports SOI alumni and non-alumni participants from Inuit Nunangaat.I managed projects, logistics, and resources needed to support in community programming. I developed training and ongoing learning opportunities for my staff, conducted site visits, and assisted in the delivery of programming throughout Inuit Nunangat. I oversaw and managed staff on expedition and supported student needs and welfare throughout travel, activities, and ship board learning opportunities.

My role focused on teacher education, where I supported, advocated for, and delivered training for Inuit teachers in Nunavik. I supported the delivery of teacher training and education courses, created professional development opportunities, and worked alongside the Ministry of Education and universities to ensure our teachers had the best training and culturally appropriate support on their journey to becoming certified teachers.I managed administration of two teacher education programs delivered through McGill University and UQAM, and delivered the summer program offerings for all of Nunavik's Inuit educators. I developed and managed research projects, oversaw the department budget, managed logistics for travel, housing and supplies for courses, and managed a team of 15 teacher supervisors, as well as in office administration team. I also sat as a member of the KI research committee, overseeing the application for ethics and delivery of research throughout the school boards catchment.

As Community Outreach Lead, I built relationships with institutions, governments and First Nations councils to create working collaborative models for education. I worked alongside Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities and schools, to understand their needs, map out educational solutions and bridge relationships toward successful program delivery. Along with my team, I helped to develop consultative processes around content creation and digital education delivery in schools across Canada that are reflective of specific communities needs and cultural teachings.I managed complex budgets and grant applications in partnership with boards of education and education directors on First Nation reserves. I supervised training as well as delivered training in communities and schools, and managed a number of projects to support community and education initiatives with our partners.

As a content specialist, I created, and assessed, educational resources for quality, pedagogy and multiple learning styles in mind. My background in technology and education, along side my time spent as a teacher and professor, allowed me to help vet and create video lessons for learners that engage them no matter their learning style.

As a researcher and educator in the field of technology integration and digital literacies, I develop workshops and lectures centred around education and technology needs. I prepare and give lectures and workshops for K-12 schools, as well as at the university level. I design and develop curriculum and strategies on such topics as digital identity, social media, digital citizenship and the pedagogy of technology.

Assist in creating a learning system for mobile devices that will be adapted to individual self-learning, particularly for children in developing countries without access to teachers.
