After winning the primary election by 63 votes, I worked with counsel to monitor the election canvass and certification process, maintain our margin of victory and successfully avoid a recount.

For the 2008 Iowa Caucus, I organized 23 rural precincts in Linn County, Iowa by building a coalition of influential supporters and volunteers including elected officials, party activists and community leaders. I recruited and empowered Precinct Captains and volunteers, and led phone banks, canvasses, and other outreach activities. These precincts outperformed the statewide vote by five points. I also planned and managed events and staffed Senator Edwards and campaign surrogates.
