I research for and write news features on the legal profession and the justice system for the Law Institute Journal and LIJ Online based on important developments, research and events of interest to LIV membership and other readers. My particular interests are the criminal justice system, law reform, and technology and the law.

As the senior media advisor at the Law Institute of Victoria my responsibilities included developing and implementing media and communication strategies aligned with the aims of the organisation, liaising with industry experts, connecting with journalists, responding to media enquiries, researching issues, briefing and coaching spokespeople, and writing.

I edited articles written by partners in the firm across a range of legal issues, and published them online. I also advised on, edited and wrote communications and marketing materials produced by the firm’s marketing and communications department.

I wrote news and feature articles across a range of subject areas, including science, technology and innovation, education, agriculture, business and urban planning - translating often highly technical material into engaging content. Publications included The Age, The Sunday Age, Monash magazine, Swinburne magazine, The Age Domain, and various other.

Drawing on my extensive media experience and writing skills I acted for a number of clients as a media advisor, communications consultant and writer. Clients included a design firm, a property advisory firm, an industry association and an agricultural research and development organisation.
