Working under the supervision of Dr. Ed Biegert with the Potential Fields and Remote Sensing team in the Basin Scanning and Evaluation group of Shell International Exploration and Production to assess hyperspectral core data for geologic input in an unconventional play. Determining hydrocarbon seep correlation to structures, vegetation, geologic maps, and mineral alteration maps in an unconventional play. Work in analyzing gravity and magnetics data.

Worked with the multi-disciplinary subsurface team for the Mars A group under the supervision of Mike Harris. Analyzed the geology, volumetrics and prospectivity of Miocene turbidite reservoirs in the Gulf of Mexico to aid in the maturation of the Mars area field development plan and the preparation of regulatory documents and negotiation of development planning strategy with the BOEM. Developed skills in defining spatial trends in reservoir thickness and composition on the basis of well data, depositional modeling, evaluating stratigraphic architecture and evidence of faulting, defining an appropriate range for sand/thickness distribution models, constructing simple static models in Petrel, evaluating uncertainty ranges associated with OWCs, seismic interpretation and generation of top structure and amplitude maps, reservoir volumetrics based on different combinations of structure and sand models, and quantifying and defining statistical range in recoverable volumes.

Worked as a geology intern in the Permian Basin for Kerogen Exploration, Inc. (KEI), a small independent start-up company primarily involved in exploring for unconventional oil and gas shales. Since coming to KEI, I received training in the use of various geoscience applications workstations and technical software packages including: GeoGraphix, ArcGIS, and Global Mapper. My responsibilities include: picking formation tops by using well log data, creating and interpreting isopach maps, cross-sections, analyzing core/cuttings sample data, assembling prospect evaluation PowerPoint presentations and presenting to management, partners and investors.

Haschenburger.Duties: Supervised and trained undergraduate geomorphology students conducted data analysis and made calculations for four collection sites in the region. I maintained and organized detailed logs of all lab practices. I also completed individual projects with regular reports to my supervisor.
