► Build spectral database using Mid-Infrared (MIR) spectrum from the soil samples archive at the National Soil Survey Laboratory, USDA-NRCS. The technology is expected to provide high-precision scans and supersede the proximal sensing results from Visible- Near- Infrared (VNIR) spectroscopy. Using chemometrics, identifying chemical and physical properties from unknown soil samples is easily attainable. ► The project required the handling of soil samples (regulated and non-regulated), grinding them, and mounting them on plates for NIR spectral analysis at the National Soil Survey Lab. Besides, I assisted in the routine chemical analysis performed at the lab, e.g., carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, and soil pH.
