At Brampton Learna, I tutor students between the ages of 4-18 to help them further understand concepts that they are learning in class. Also, I specifically tutor English and French, and occasionally basic math to younger students. With my English and French students, I am able to teach new concepts that they will be covering in class in the near future, as we cover most of the the curriculum the summer before they enter their new grade. Working at Learna has been an enlightening experience because there are multiple new challenges that I have to adapt to on a daily basis. For example, if a grade 9 student has a French exam but their teacher has not provided a review of what will be covered on the exam, I will go ahead and create a whole French review package that contains all contents covered in the curriculum. Furthermore, I will also give a detailed explanation of each concept, so the student is able to understand the unit on their own, if needed.

As the Vice President of the Public Policy and Administration Student Association (PPASA), I had many duties and responsibilities that required me to be dedicated and accessible to my team, the School of Public Policy and Administration and students across York University. As the Vice President, I planned many social networking events for students to have the opportunity to network with professors, alumni, colleagues and professionals. By doing so, students are able to create and build connections and relationships that may further their education and their careers. I have coordinated with other student associations to plan such social events where both associations are overlooking the financing, catering, venues, promotions and ultimately the execution of the said event.In my Vice Presidency, I had the honour and opportunity of creating my own event called the Professional Development Workshop, where students were able to have a chance to gather information and learn how to create resumes, cover letters and work on their interviewing skills and their professional skills as well. During this event, I worked closely with my team by delegating tasks to the designated executives in order to ensure that the event ran efficiently and effectively.

As a volunteer with the PPASA, I helped organize and prepare for monthly events. I also promoted PPASA events in order maximize the attendance and took the initiative of creating prize bags for events when they were in dire need 10 minutes before an event. During my two years as a volunteer with the PPASA, I attended all events and helped club members with their duties, such as decorating event spaces, catering food, creating gift bags and taking meeting minutes using Microsoft Word.
