With over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, I am a seasoned and reliable healthcare consultant specializing in electronic medical records (EMR) and billing solutions. I recently set up EMR systems for two start up facilities, credentialed providers, advised on laws and regulations, mitigated risks within the organizaions. I also serve as a medical consultant for Hawai'i Health & Harm Reduction Center, a nonprofit organization that offers comprehensive health and social services to underserved communities. There, I work mainly with EMR software, advise on coding and other issues, and support the organization's mission to reduce health disparities and improve health outcomes. I am a certified Professional from the Academy for Healthcare Management (PAHM), and I have completed Google's Data Analytics courses from Coursera.Prior to consultanting, I worked at BCBS of Hawaii as a Medical Research Analyst. I wrote medical policies in collarobation with HMSA's Medical Directors. I became profecient in editing, proofreading and mastered Microsoft Word as well as Adobe PDF. Policies were created by researching professional societies guidelines, FDA criteria, clinical trial data and other sources i.e. WHO. Because the policies are based on procedures, I am skilled at CPT coding as well as ICD-10 for diagnosis coding.
