As an independent product designer, I have completed complex engagements with clients including Google, VMware, Amazon, T-Mobile, Olympus, the U.S. government, and many startups. My early-stage experience includes designing the first release UX of enterprise security products for Beyond Identity and Resilient Systems, a Cambridge MA startup acquired by IBM Security. I lead a boutique product design consulting practice in which my client work focuses on discovery and de-risking of new product concepts. I also perform expert UX reviews: https://humanlogic.com.I am a co-developer of Local Haze, an iOS app that monitors air quality using crowdsourced data from over 32,000 air quality sensors across six continents.My technical background includes an MS from the MIT Media Laboratory and a BS in Computer Science from Tufts University. I'm an inventor on over a dozen software utility patents. In 2002, I authored the first book linking business strategy to online user experience, "Built for Use" (McGraw-Hill).
