About Kathleen Donoho

Whether I'm in an archive conducting research, on the grounds at Conner Prairie talking history with 1,000+ field trip students per day, or behind my screen analyzing data, I love bringing the stories of people of the past to people of the present. I specialize in textile history, Indiana history, and nineteenth-century American history more broadly. Much of my nitty-gritty research examines the intersections of these topics with the history of work and the experiences of women. My experience in the field of Public History includes both “front lines” museum work — as a Living History Interpreter as Conner Prairie — and the “behind the scenes” work vital to supporting those working directly with the public— working with Collections at Minnetrista Museum and Gardens, as well as collaborating with scholars at Ball State University on several local history projects. I’ve loved history and museums for as long as I can remember, which, along with my passion for education, led me to Public History and the museum field! I’m always working to grow my knowledge and love being in a field where I learn something new every day.
