At the intersection of science and business, I've been fortunate to be part of team efforts in early-stage companies with advanced technology to industry leadership, as well as an IPO and $800M exit. Strong experiences in engineering, R&D, supply chain, and IP. I love to build teams, products, tech, and companies.Have a career-long track record in industry-first robotics, intelligence and control systems technology. Experienced in autonomous vehicles, robotics, semiconductor, lighting, wearable electronics, and consumer products.Over 20+ years, I’ve contributed knowledge and experience to teams:◆ Leadership strategy deploying innovation resources;◆ Creating multi-talented teams, structure, processes, and controls to successfully shepherd technologies from R&D through product development and go-to-market stages.◆ Building profitable internal and external partnerships – in customer business development, with major corporations and government on technology/product development, and with supply chain vendors and contractors.◆ Managing the future-critical patent process and the full range of IP portfolio challenges, including licensing, legal teams, and prosecution/defense.◆ Identifying and leading tech and IP due diligence for acquisitions.◆ Communicating to key stakeholders including the board, investors, and industry analysts as well as the media and the public. I built credibility as a frequent speaker at industry conferences, actively formed and led standards-setting groups, and am an experienced spokesperson with government and media.◆ Many years of IP experience in patents and more. Over 70 U.S. utility patents in several technical areas. Invention emphasis on solving commercially applicable problems. This has all been both challenging and fun!
