The Graduate Diversity Advisory Board provides support, feedback, and suggestions to the Office of Graduate Student Diversity Programs. The board contributes to all aspects of the office including The Mentoring Institute and additional educational programs and retreats throughout the year. Additionally, the board assists in recruiting efforts of.

The Mentoring Institute at the University of Virginia is an interethnic and interdisciplinary program designed run out of the Office of Graduate Student Diversity Programs to increase the retention of students within marginalized groups at the university. I spent one year as mentee and two years as a mentoring coach, where I facilitate interactions between.

Currently expanding upon my thesis research in tumor immunology and chemoprevention.

During this time, I completed my thesis research entitled "A Role for MIF in Tumor Growth and Metastasis." I evaluated the impact of MIF on the tumor microenvironment, specifically myeloid cell populations, as a possible mechanism for chemoprevention by isothiocyanates. During this time, I created a hypothesis and research plan, integrated many new tumor.

In the Residues division of Chemistry, I developed skills and techniques in GLPs (good laboratory practices), organic extractions, results analysis, and adherence to immovable deadlines. I communicated results in order to ensure the safety of products going to market and troubleshot protocols when problems arose.
