I am responsible for the development and implementation of the Fortis DEI strategic plan for Fortis. My focus areas are Supplier Diversity, Community Engagement, Workforce Development, and overall DEI program initiatives. I am responsible for the creation and implementation of programs, processes, education, and policies that promote a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace and safe and respectful construction jobsites.

I oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive efforts to increase the inclusion of small businesses in all Port financial transactions. I manage all aspects of the Port’s Small Business Development Program which includes the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program, Small Business Enterprise program, Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program, Mentor Protégé program, Workforce Training and Hiring program, Small Business Technical Assistance program and Title VI. I often work in highly political environments within diverse communities and act as the spokesperson for the Port in regards to the agency’s programs and policies. Highlights: * Act as Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Liaison Officer to the FAA on behalf of the Port * Manage staff and department budgets* Act as liaison to community stakeholders, political offices, and advocacy organizations on matters pertaining to Port's small business program and DEI activities* Participate in Commission meetings and present information on activities and accomplishments as required* Establish contracting goals and implement outreach programs to effectively meet the goals* Manage the agency’s nationally recognized Mentor-Protégé program and developed a contracting program ensuring utilization of graduate firms. Through this program, graduated protégé firms average $9M in annual contract dollars* Implemented the Ports B2G and LCPTracker compliance systems and provided training to vendors* Assisted in the development of the Ports Social Equity Program and act as a member of the Ports DEI Core team* Establish and manage the Port's Workforce Training and Hiring Program * Successfully implemented the Ports first Community Benefits Agreement and created the agreement framework for future implementation on projects. *Established the Port's Technical Assistance Program including the development of policy, framework, and budget.*Led the Port's 2018 Disparity Study

Policy adviser in the office of Governor John Kitzhaber. Advocated and created programs within the state to improve government contracting opportunities for small and disadvantaged businesses. Coordinated the efforts of over 75 state agencies and several hundred purchasing personnel statewide, to develop and support opportunities for small businesses and ensure they receive information about government contracting opportunitiesHighlights:* Developed and implemented standardized state contracting language for small business participation * Participate in the Oregon Tribal Cluster by representing the Oregon Governor’s office to all 9 Oregon tribes and provide tribal leaders with state resources and information as needed* Facilitated quarterly meetings with the head of all 75 State agencies to discuss strategies and accomplishments pertaining to small business contracting* Provided small businesses in Oregon a resource to receive information about State procurements, licenses and training* Organized and hosted the annual Governor’s Marketplace Conference. This conference is an annual trade show and educational conference for small businesses interested in Government contracting. Each conference features over 100 exhibitors from State, Federal and local municipalities and has over 1000 attendees annually
