I manage my company; KD Transport, LLC; in the morning, get the trucks rolling. I am responsible for all administrative duties. Don works in the field, he is the project manager and foreman on the job site. Don has over 35 years experience in the trucking field. He is a very talented truck driver. People are amazed where he can place a truck! He will guarantee customer satisfaction before leaving the job site. I also manage the daily administrative duties at MAFD; payroll, A/P, A/R, help with budgeting. We are a paid on call department that is owned by 4 municipalities; City of Milan, York Township, Milan Township and London Township. The fair share of the operating budget between the municipalities is determined by a very sophisticated formula which takes in account of total real and personal SEV's, population, dwelling units, land area, miles of roads and boundaries. Each category has a weighted percentage, when totaled, that is the percentage of the Operating/Capital Improvement Budget each municipality is responsible for. And last but not least, I will be working, starting September for Ypsilanti Animal Hospital; 2 days a week. I love veterinary science; so I get my fix and I am happy. Its nice to get out of the office at times and do something that you really enjoy.
