About Ke-Ana Durham
I have a passion for working with students in the realm of elementary education. Growing up, I was a student that attended predominately black schools in poverty-stricken neighborhoods. I had an unstable home situation and faced many educational inequities. I am committed to serving disadvantaged students and their communities in any and every way that I can. I serve the kids like my younger self, who struggled from significant learning gaps and loss. Every student deserves access to quality education and resources, regardless of where they live. I never intended to want to become a teacher, but I got hooked while I was serving with City Year. My city year service demonstrated to me that all it takes to change the course of a child’s life is having one person who believes in them and genuinely understands them. Teaching is one of the most important, yet undervalued professions in my opinion. I want to empower students. Students have different needs and different learning styles. In the past two years, I have learned that no one student is the same. I want to help students believe in themselves like some of my teachers did for me.Summary• Agile and adaptable staff leader with stellar work history, motivational approach, and upbeat nature. A skilled trainer who leverages organized approaches to handle daily responsibilities. Forward-thinker with diplomatic communication style to enhance engagement and satisfaction. Fosters positive collaborative rapport, and guides teams toward the achievement of organizational goals. An effective facilitator that is adept at working cross-departmentally with co-management and top-level leadership.Hobbies• Cooking • Dancing• Reading • Designing • Content Creating
