About Ke Xia

I have a solid knowledge of protein and glycan chemistry. In my Ph.D. and postdoctoral research, I studied protein kinetic stability at the proteomics level. In addition, I worked as a research associate and scientist in Dr. Robert Linhardt's lab for years. I have a strong understanding of glycan chemistry and experience in both glycan synthesis and glycomics. I am familiar with glycoprotein and proteoglycan identification. I have over 50 peer-reviewed publications, including several top-tier nature science family journals and first-author PNASs. The total number of citations exceeds 1000.I have had a lot of hands-on experience with protein and glycan sample preparation, identification, and quantitative mass spectrometry techniques. For proteins, my research interests span protein structure, folding, kinetics, biophysical properties, bioinformatics, and protein-protein interactions. For glycans, I am good at glycan standard synthesis, extraction, sequencing, NMR structure determination, quantification, and mapping.I am familiar with bioinformatics tools such as Proteome Discoverer, GlycReSoft, Trans-Proteomics Pipeline (TPP). Worth to mention, I am an expert in the top-down, bottom-up MS method for glycan drug mapping, which was accepted by FDA and European Medicines Agency(EMA) for drug approval. I am also an expert in pharmacokinetics. I have experience developing protein, glycan, and conjugate assay methodologies. Such as peptide mapping, proteomics, glycan mapping, glycomics, by capillary electrophoresis, SEC, CEX, HILIC, ion pair, 2D-Gel, MS/MS, label-free or isotope-labeled quantification, and multiple reaction monitoring(MRM). I am well experienced in chemo-enzymatic synthesis of high purity standard glycan samples. We are the sole provider of these standards for the whole community. I am an expert in glycan quality control and analysis during the bio-manufacture process.For non-mass-spec-based expertise, I am an expert in protein biophysics measurements by using stop-flow, CD, and fluorescence. I also developed an ultrasensitive method for sequencing glycans, including unique sample synthesis, nanopore sequencing, and machine learning. Only 500 molecules are needed to identify different glycan chemicals.I have a strong track record of conducting independent research (over 50 peer-reviewed publications, including several papers as contact author). I also have experience authoring development/result reports, SOPs, regulatory filings, and other documents. I communicate efficiently in interdisciplinary and cross-functional teams.
