As a clinical research assistant at the Penn Cardiovascular Clinical Research Unit, I contributed to groundbreaking medical studies focused on treatments and diagnostic improvements for heart failure and heart transplant patients. I processed blood and tissue samples from patients, entered and organized data in EDCs such as REDCap and Medrio, and aided in the consenting of patients onto new studies.

As a participant in the Mayor's Youth Employment Program, I worked in Atrium Health's clinical applications department. During my internship, I learned about the technological sphere behind continuing care and its importance, contributed ideas towards defining an ideal future state for the specialty pharmacy, observed various health professionals ranging from home health nurses to sleep medicine providers, and evaluated the digital tools health professionals use on a daily basis.

As a participant in the MeckPathways program, I worked among the Mecklenburg County Public Health COVID-19 Response Unit. During my internship, I organized events to provide COVID-19 resources to the community, compiled reports on the status of COVID-19 in the county, reached out to businesses and individuals to help spread information about COVID-19, and learned about the strategies used to aid members of our community.

As a participant in the Mayor's Youth Employment Program, I worked in a multi-specialty health clinic within a larger hospital complex. During my internship, I assisted doctors with patient care, contributed ideas to improve the patient care process and provider workflow, observed minor and major surgical procedures, and developed professionalism and communication skills.
