Working with an broad and diverse interdisciplinary team to tackle problems relating to Coastal resilience, Atmospheric Hazards, Water Prediction Systems, and Social Science. Conducted research on changes to causes of tropical cyclones (TCs) and their intensification, and the equipment involved in data collection of our variables of interest such as Argo Floats, satellites and Bathymeters. Utilized MATLAB and linear algebra to format netCDF data derived from these devices and created spatial and temporal models of changes in ocean heat content, latent heat flux, and sensible heat flux using mapping toolbox.Observed changes indicating significantly increased TC intensity and used hurricane counts to validate this result. Presented results on a poster, emphasizing the impact on low income areas and severe costs of recovery and aid.
