As a Technology Manager at IPI, my main role and responsibility is scouting for emerging technologies especially in Urban Solution & Sustainability, Renewables and CCUS sectors. I conduct due diligence to verify the commercial viability and market potential of scouted technologies. I engage various stakeholders in the ecosystem and provide consulting to help them adopt relevant technologies and foster collaborative relationships.• Identify and evaluate high growth opportunities in the Energy and Environment sector with emphasis on Urban Solution & Sustainability, Renewables and CCUS• Conduct technology scouting and technology landscape studies to discover emerging technologies in identified high growth areas• Perform IP, technical and commercial due diligence to verify viability and market potential of scouted technologies• Engaged with various stakeholders (local and overseas) such as government agencies, enterprises and research institutes to catalyse technological adoption.• Promote Thought Leadership by leading, planning and organising IPI's Emerging Technology Forum (ETF) on Carbon Emission Reduction

During my Postdoctoral Fellowship, I pursed my research interest in 2 main areas, CCUS and fuel cell. For CCUS, I was mainly interested in the prospect of electro-converting carbon dioxide in useful materials such as methanol as a means of utilisation/sequestration. For fuel cell, I explored the possibility of replacing platinum group metals (PGMs) with other alternatives as well as developing new coating methods to improve overall performance. During this fellowship, I picked up critical and design thinking skills as well as communicative and management abilities from my project management as well as supervision of undergraduates and postgraduate candidates.• Led, designed and conducted research in both CCUS (electro-conversion of carbon dioxide to higher order carbonaceous products) and fuel cell (catalyst development) • Published 4 publications on CCUS and fuel cell in high Impact Factor journals• Mentored and supervised undergraduates, Master and Ph.D. program candidates
