• Pioneered first SPDY deployment for service-to-service traffic. I co-implemented this protocol on both the load balancer and backend service and was the lead engineer for rolling this out across the global fleet with zero downtime.• Designed and implemented the Virtual Transport Layer, a similar technology to SPDY and HTTP/2. It provide the same multiplexing benefits but was ultimately scrapped in favor of SPDY.• Developed and scaled Android Google Cloud Messaging, Google Hangouts, Google Talk, and Chrome Sync. I also built automated monitoring, performed load testing, ensured appropriate utilization, responded to production emergencies.
