My position was a split between writing and requesting proposals, coordination with clients, exterior stakeholders and consultants; interviewing job applicants for specific positions; and supervision, direction, and training of junior staff: directing production of construction drawings, on-site surveys of existing buildings, and training/development of their capabilities by transmitting specific and usable technical knowledge and expertise, tailored to task, individual, and process.Specific projects have included remodels and retrofits of existing spaces into new retail locations in stand-alone, strip-mall and large mall buildings for a variety of clients; new vanilla-box/shell additions to existing buildings; and several large corporate interiors and expansions. Other work has included peer review for quality control and code conformity.

My responsibilities included designing spaces to high standards of taste, client request, and code requirements; and documentation and field coordination of those designs with contractors and engineers.Specific projects included a 8000sf high-end beach home in Long Beach Township, a high-end contemporary apartment upfit in the new luxury loft building 500 Walnut in Philadelphia, a competition for the development of the Fleisher Art Memorial and thier associated properties, and several smaller projects ranging from intensive shading design for a private deck to early concept/zoning studies for offices and homes on the island.

My responsibilities were mainly in the realm of architectural support for production of construction documents and design graphics.

This was a summer internship focused mainly on assisting the principal with projects ranging from an extensive landscaping job to schematic designs for a very large single family home. I was able to learn by firsthand observation some of the challenges associated with the profession and gained valuable experience from working closely with an experienced architect.
