Anyone can sell products; I want to sell ideas. Anyone can walk a well-known path; I want to be a trailblazer. Anyone can push aside their creative dreams for the sake of a paycheque; I want to turn my creativity and dreams into my paycheque.My name is Keegan Barker; I am a creator, thinker, and dreamer.I am absolutely astounded by the power of words. One sentence is enough to cause permanent change, both outward and inward. The right words can bring a person to tears, or inspire them to lift their heads from the shadows. Well-crafted prose or poetry can inspire, change and motivate someone to completely change their way of life. Words have power, and I have always wanted to learn to use that power for the purpose of enriching life.I have spent years learning how to write properly so that my work is informative, palatable, and - hopefully - inspiring. During my undergrad, I learned how to properly composite research papers and essays to accurately narrate important information, while maintaining pacing and investment on the part of the reader. Part of my success should be owed to my exceptional oral and written skills, as well as my English fluency. As a musician, I spent hours learning to put words and melodies together to create some hopeful evocation of emotion through harmony and rhythm. During the past couple of years, I have expanded my writing portfolio to include radio commercial scripts from local businesses, as well as several articles related to personal development, society, and popular culture. During my time at St. John's Music, I honed my interpersonal skills and my fluency with customer service. I learned how to build long-term relationships with clients, which led to a flourishing partnership between both parties. I also learned to effectively manage myself within a semi-formal office environment, and I learned to improve my time management and organizational skills. I was even given opportunities for problem solving with the express purpose of moving more product or bringing in more customers. One such problem was when we needed to sell more guitars at a slower time of year. I suggested by discounted old instruments with little markup, we moved them faster and I was able to upsell amps and accessories to make more money per transaction, while I provided excellent customer service to ensure repeat business. I am motivated by a desire to use my creativity to help others and to make the world a better place. I want to use my skills to help people sell their products, build their businesses, and follow their own dreams.
