My name is Keegan Ingle and I am a recent Frederik Meijer Honors College graduate of the Seidman College of Business at Grand Valley State University where I obtained my Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Business Economics with a minor in Psychology.My experience working as an economics tutor for Grand Valley’s student athletes has taught me how to work with individuals to help them achieve the academic goals they had set for themselves and that we had set together. It taught me the importance of building a strong rapport with individuals when striving to attain their goals. This job also helped reinforce the existing emphases I put on maintaining strong organizational skills, punctuality, and the importance of properly utilizing technology to help facilitate my job. As a sales associate for Dunham’s Sports, I was able to gain experience in customer service while gaining knowledge as part of a team in order to both help customers and meet the long-term and short-term goals of the company. While working on my bachelor’s degree as a college student, I was able to further enhance my critical thinking skills while working both on my own and in teams on research projects and community outreach efforts. This time helped reinforce the value of teamwork; the importance of having differing perspectives and opinions when trying to solve problems and having extra hands to share the workload can be exceptionally beneficial. I also gained experience in furthering my written, verbal, and bodily communication skills. My previous work experience as well as my experience as a college student have contributed to fostering and growing the personal drive and initiative I have within myself to maximize my effectiveness at accomplishing any and all goals set before me. My ultimate goal in life is to change the world for the better. Whether that be by helping a great number of people or companies with their financial needs and goals, or as simple as putting a smile on one other person’s face, I’m here to make a difference and to leave the world a better place than when I entered it.
