An intense job which requires quick thinking and decision making, the general days consist of engaging with clients, welcoming them to the practice and providing a great service the whole time they are there, to booking hundreds of appointments and taking even more phone calls. The calls can range from a simple query of opening times to advice on how best to help their animals - these calls can be intensive and informative and a vast amount of training is needed to do so.Other key skills this job has allowed me to get involved with is care for the practice, keeping it looking professional and welcoming at all times, opening and locking up procedures and ensuring the safety of everyone including myself. I've learnt administrative skills, data management, marketing and I also have the opportunity to creative my own forms of POS and use my creative brain to make informative posters. A lot of the job was building trusting relationships with client and communicating with them with full transparency. Working within a team to creative a positive work environment but also being supportive and considerate for everyone involved.

An office based environment job, where during my time I provided the best results and feedback they’d seen for my position! My job would consist of building relationships with clients to earn their trust and know that their bookings are safe in my hands, I was always on the ball and my response time was impeccable. I would manage their bookings straight from point of contact with the client to making arrangements with businesses to secure their booking, this involved making a lot of phone calls, being patient and never giving up.

An 8 year long career that was my first steps into the working life, a journey which had it's ups and downs but a lot of things learnt along the way. These are just a few of the benefits and knowledge factors I could bring with me in the future.The main thing this job has taught me is how to communicate with customers, how to keep a positive relationship with them, as well as providing them with outstanding service. In my opinion, as far as retail goes the company provides one of the best customer service experiences you can receive. They have taught me how to achieve that.Although dealing with phone calls isn't a major part of the job, it is something that happens throughout the day, from people inquiring about opening times to people questioning about their pets needs.Every year each colleague is awarded with a bonus dependent on how well sales go within each individual store, I have gained a knowledge of what those bonuses work on, and how to achieve the best results for me as a person. I'm results driven and to see how my performance throughout the year affects that bonus, really drives me to do the best I possibly can.The company is the biggest pet retailer in the UK, so we had several criteria to live up to, achieving these goals throughout the year as well as maintaining standards on a day to day basis. All employees are pushed to do the best they possibly can in order to achieve the best possible results, we as individuals benefit greatly from how much effort we put in.
