I currently also do research for Dr. Kent Montgomery in the Physics & Astronomy department. We just got a new Planewave CDK 700 27-inch telescope a little ways away from campus that I was trained on this summer. I was also trained on some of the SARA telescopes that we have access to that aren’t on campus. For example, I have used the SARA telescopes in Chile and in Arizona. Dr. Montgomery has taught me how to not only take exposures of asteroids but also how to analyze their light curve data. I have observed approximately 12 asteroids over my time so far, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time doing this and I look forward to continuing this research throughout my years at TAMUC. We are currently comparing our data with that of other astronomers who have looked at those asteroids. I am hired as a student researcher in the Physics & Astronomy department on Dr. Robynne Lock's research team and we work on a project called STEP UP Physics which is a project funded through APS and an NSF grant, and the goal of the project is to inspire more young women to pursue a career in physics. Over the summer of 2019, I stayed at school to analyze student data on a Women In Physics Lesson that was created by STEP UP Physics. This semester we are wrapping up the analysis and getting ready to write a paper on the findings in the spring 2020 semester. Over the summer, I also created the Student Outreach program for the project to get more students involved in our movement. I work at the Academic Sucess Center at TAMUC, as a library tutor. I help students in their physics, astronomy, mathematics, and some computer science classes.

I was a hired LA for 3 semesters of college, this spring semester will be my last. This job is similar to that of a teaching assistant but we are undergraduates. I was a learning assistant for both Physics I and Physics II. I helped grade, tutor, and teach other university students in the Physics & Astronomy Department.
