Contract Writer for the Bureau of Managed Care within the SC Department of Health and Human Services, Healthy Connections Medicaid.

Responsible for the design and delivery of all initiatives and project deliverables as designated under the social determinants of health project funded by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare (CMS). Primary goals for the project included developing relationships with local healthcare providers and stakeholders to gather interest in participation in the project, and identify trends, emerging issues, policies, and evidence-based practices based on process evaluation and community impact. Key Accomplishments:• Served as a public health technical expert and provided program implementation expertise to support healthcare providers in rural and underserved communities• Developed technical workflows for 5 federally qualified healthcare centers and critical access hospitals throughout South Carolina and Georgia based on unique needs and data requirements• Analyzed project data and offered tailored feedback to providers to improve integrated social and health care management resulting in increased social needs referrals• Researched and developed a Maturity Assessment that measured provider readiness for implementing a social determinants of health assessment and referral-based technology platform• Developed impact strategies for rural communities and provided CMS policy change recommendations reflective of the data captured within the project• Ensured grant compliance by analyzing project deliverables and performance evaluations

Managed program implementation for a 5-year, grant funded undergraduate program focused on supporting students from underrepresented populations interested in a future in maternal and child healthcare. Primary tasks for the role included managing recruitment of program trainees, developing community partnerships, coordinating all program-related activities, and analyzing trends and metrics to assist with yearly grant reporting. Key Accomplishments:• Successfully recruited over 80 applicants for the MCH LEAP program within a 6-week time frame for the first program semester in which only 22 students were accepted• Analyzed program data and tracked program expenditures to run progress reports, develop performance reports, and evaluate program metrics• Coordinated monthly dinner seminars and an end-of-the-year program summit• Curated all program social media across several platforms• Successfully supported 4 senior students who were accepted into competitive graduate programs and assisted 1 senior student in accepting a position to a job focused on maternal and child health

Provided individual crisis intervention, advocacy, and education services to female inmates regarding sexual health, sexual trauma, domestic abuse, and sex trafficking. Developed and managed a comprehensive sexual trauma services program within the prison based on a grant funded from the Violence Against Women’s Act (VAWA) in coordination with SCDC. Key Accomplishments:• Successfully implemented a comprehensive sexual trauma services program that provided crisis support, individual advocacy, and psychoeducation to hundreds of incarcerated women• Coordinated with SCDC officials to maintain PREA compliance standards and successfully met standards for 4 consecutive years • Developed and provided specialized trauma-informed care trainings to institution staff, local affiliate agencies, and other nonprofits• Established skills in task management, strategic planning, and developing programmatic materials based on client needs• Provided rape crisis hotline, medical advocacy, and education services to the Midlands community

Performed individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, reintegration education, psychological evaluations and screenings, treatment planning, substance abuse treatment, and case management services to adult, male inmates. Key Accomplishments:• Retained a case load of 80-200 inmates within minimum, medium, and maximum security• Collaborated with mental health, medical, and security personal to provide integrative mental health services to inmates with a wide range of mental health issues and substance use disorders

• Performed individual, group, family, and couples psychotherapy as well as provided case management services to approximately 40 clients including adults, children, and adolescents • Created and led a 10 week, solution-focused psychotherapy group working with adults with anxiety disorders• Completed over 30 intake assessments and more than 25 treatment plans

• Provided excellent customer service by building rapport with customers, problem solving customer-related issues, and assisting them in locating, choosing, and purchasing store products

• Assisted in approximately 5 Doctoral research projects under the supervision of Dr. Renee L Baillargeon.• Conducted over 15 experiments in order to assess cognitive development within the first 3 years of life. • Maintained set-up procedures and performed, from memory, different experiments through the use of looking-time and action studies.

• Performed duties as a camp counselor for children ages 5-13 years old and provided mentorship for campers including the use of the Smart Moves program developed by the Boys and Girls Club of America
