Charles Keen is director of Keen Ltd, which undertakes design and engineering projects, leading and project managing consortia in areas such as the UK aluminium industry, UK battery technology and manufacturing, building related AI and augmented reality, Building operations, Business transformation and Product design. Our clients are global corporations seeking swift confidential solutions to pressing challenges for which Keen specialises in gathering expertise and implementing change. Charles co-founded BACALL in 2015, a consortium for the sourcing of ultra-low carbon aluminium sheet in the UK, with industry, trade association and governmental stakeholders. In 2020, Keen Ltd authored ‘Sustain Aluminium’, which was taken up by the Aluminium Federation, an industry wide strategy for decarbonising and expanding the UK aluminium industry. In 2012, Charles co-founded Censervit, which offers interim management resourcing in the areas of building operations, construction and sustainable energy technologies in iconic high-rises to hospitals; the company serves clients in the UK, Europe, the Middle East, China, and Canada, and specialised in resolving PFI/ PPP issues. Charles’ corporate career started in GKN, Salzgitter and Republic Steel followed by various management and Board positions in private and public companies in UK and Europe such as Meggitt Group, Williams Holdings, and Vitra; he graduated from the University of Bath in Mechanical Engineering, speaks French, German, Dutch, and English, is currently serving on the board of the UK Aluminium Federation and is a member of the Bessemer Society.
