With more than 20 years of work experience at Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) in Singapore, I am passionate about delivering high-quality education and developing healthy citizenship attitudes and skills in our youths. I hold a Master of Education from the University of Western Australia and a Master of Business Administration from Macquarie Graduate School of Management, and I have received multiple awards for my innovation and excellence in curriculum development and citizenship education.In my current role as a Senior Lecturer at NP's School of Interdisciplinary Studies, I teach and help oversee NP's Citizenship Education curriculum, which is delivered to a cohort of 5,000 students from across all courses annually. I believe that citizenship education and civic engagement are key to nurturing better youth leaders in our society, and I strive to create meaningful and transformative learning experiences for my students and colleagues.

The WISP module is a prescribed third year Interdisciplinary Studies module taken by about 2,200 students each semester supported by a teaching team of about 30 Lecturers. It is the primary academic curriculum platform for the delivery of citizenship education at Ngee Ann Polytechnic.Responsible for the following:- Assess performance and build the capabilities of the teaching team (both full-time staff and adjuncts) through regular teaching observations and coaching, and conducting staff development training sessions where new teaching methods or content are introduced. - Maintain teaching team cohesiveness through regular communication sessions and ensuring consistencies in student interfaces and administration.- Strategic planning for module improvement - setting the direction in terms of content and resources.- Curriculum development and continuous improvement in module design, introduction of teaching and learning resources and delivery methods. Constantly search and write case studies on global issues, introduce databases and the use of social media and online tools for enhanced student engagement.- Work with industry partners and other schools to market and build equity in WISP and maintain consistent high standards and quality of the module. Successfully collaborated with the School of Humanities to provide the Dialogue in the Dark museum tour as a standard experiential learning platform for all students taking the module. -
