I love what I do and am proud to have been a part of building such a great team. The first core value of our company is my favorite and I live by it both professionally and personally - "HONEST. We are honest with ourselves and others". I'm not sure it's always seen as a positive attribute - I guess that depends on whether or not you like my answer ;) Honestly, though, it is something we talk about all the time. Sometimes that involves saying No Thank You or No Thank You Right Now. It can be a hard thing to do, but I would much rather be honest with a client about expectations and reality instead of selling them on something that won't be a success or a good fit. If it's a plant that really doesn't do well in a certain environment, we are going to be honest and tell you not to plant it. If it requires a lot of maintenance and you don't enjoy gardening, I'm not going to recommend it even if it looks great in pictures. If you have a deadline that cannot be budged and there is no chance we can meet it, I'll say that before you ever sign up. And in the meantime, I'll do whatever I can to make something happen to keep our clients and our team happy.
