Kees de Ruiter is since 2021 director programs at Cordaid. The program unit has different mandates, being Thematic Business Development, Positioning & Acquisition ; Knowledge Development & Innovation ; Technical Assistance; Acute & Humanitarian response and Program management. With a team of 65 professionals, the focus is hereby on Health, Education, Food and nutrition security, Employment & entrepreneurship, Security & Justice and Humanitarian Aid.Before that, he was director of SPS, Strategy and program support at ICCO. As such, overall responsible for the 5 different SPS units; Business development,  PMEL  Corporate communication, Strategy & policy development and  Disaster Management. From 2010 till 2018 he was the Managing Director of the ICCO regional office South East Asia, based in Indonesia. As regional director, Kees was responsible for the management of ICCO programmes and projects in the South East Asia & Pacific region, focusing on Indonesia, Philippines, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia and PNG. Earlier, he was based in Vietnam for 4 years. He is an agricultural engineer with 30 years of international experience in Asia and Africa. He specializes in issues related to social and economic aspects of development, geodata, Value chain development, M4P, natural resources management, the learning organization and organizational and institutional development.
