Kees van Gelder started as a minor art collector in the early seventies. Writes essays about artists for catalogues and art magazines as Artzien, Arte y parte, NY Arts Magazine, Cut magazine. Recently he wrote a text of 15.000 words containing more than 300 annotations for a catalogue raisonné of Marijke van Warmerdam. He creates a concept based art collection of Gerhard Richter, Dieter Roth, Takako Saito, John Baldessari and others. Since 1998 he collects printed cards and offset/printed matter signed by Gerhard Richter and does forensic graphological research on authentic signatures of this artist. Currently he is directing a gallery for contemporary international art in Amsterdam.Specialties: Supports artists and reflects on art and art strategies.
