This Star Wars fan film is, as far as we know, the largest Dutch fan production ever. We set out to create a story driven, highly professional Star Wars short, without spending the money this would usually take. Production:I wrote the script, and went on to produce the 20 minute film together with Ruben de Ronde. We got together a crew of, in total, 40 people willing to participate without pay. The script and our passion sold them on the film. With these people we shot 7 days (spread out over 4 different weekends) in a private forrest we were able to use in Ijmuiden, and in two complete sets we build with Fred Tabois. The set of the cave home was build in just two days, leading up to the shoot. We also contacted the 501st, a costume group specializing in Star Wars costumes and charity organization. They agreed to play our Stormtroopers and Darth Vader in the movie. Special Effects:I decided early on to use practical special effects for the film as far as we could. This meant we used real space ship models instead of Sponsoring Obtained:We managed to get material sponsoring from Cam-a-lot, Noize Boyz, Prima de Lux, Robs Prop shop, Kitchen for Fashion, Loc Dep and Drukbedrijf. We got Subway Ijmuiden to sponsor lunch for the entire crew of 40, and had crew shirts sponsored by Reclame Totaal. Crowdfunding Succes:I ran a crowdfunding campaign on Cinecrowd, which was completed with 117%. Commercial I shot for Cartoon Network. We interviewed kids about the reboot of their 'favorite' TV show, Ben 10. This was a lot of fun, since the kids actually didn't really know the show, and got to see two episodes right before interview started. They then went on to act as if they had seen every episode and loved it. I then edited the interviews and sent them to Cartoon Network, and they inserted the images of the show, which were still secret at that point. The commercial aired on Tv in the Netherlands.

Two online commercials I directed for the KVK (Dutch chamber of commerce). The videos were both shot on the same day, at different locations and with a different cast. The concept was families on vacation, struggling with the local language. They try to order in a restaurant, but since they don't speak the language, order something they shouldn't have. A voice over then says that you can at least read the KvK newsletter on vacation. At first both commercials had the same script, in a different country. I suggested to make one of the scripts different, and wrote a treatment where the people use a translation app to read the menu, which became the second commercial. The commercials were launched on social media in 2016.
