In June 2018 I started as senior business analyst E-business. As such I was able to provide this –at that time- relatively new business area for Mediq with vital insights helping to accelerate E-business activities and webportal development.

In 2004 I started to build a Business Intelligence system to be used within Mediq Direct. This system incorporated reports and data cubes for the different business units of Mediq Direct. A webportal was developed providing access to the data cubes. All business units were considered as separate entities and thus the cubes were not integrated as one. In 2008 the above described system was redesigned to provide cubes for Mediq Direct as one entity, thus enabling an integrated and consolidated view over the whole business at once.With a group of 3 FTE we developed and maintained this complete and user friendly BI suite based on Microsoft SQL Server. In this suite cubes up to 50GB were available giving a day to day picture of the business and the relevant trends on (if so desired) a granular level as of January 2008.In 2014 Mediq started with a global IT strategy incorporating SAP as ERP solution and IBM / Cognos as BI solution. This major change provided a tempting challenge in a fast changing environment. SAP based processes were defined and translated into BI requirements. Latter accumulated in a complete set of packages presenting a comprehensive business view thus enabling Self Service BI and the realization of a webportal based standard library of reports and dashboards.Next steps, data science, predictive and prescriptive analysis are under investigation, enabling disease management with an even higher increased quality level and thus strongly improving on Mediq’s added value proposition.Apart from these activities I am also active as Master Data Manager as of March 2018 on an ad interim basis.

Development of Business Information Systems. This development led to the development of a standard management reporting (month-)set. Dedicated information and business analyses were carried out on a project basis. Information gathering was accomplished with Access databases build on top of the ERP Exact environment.During this assignment I also developed a dedicated work-flow application for customer invoice complaints registration and its follow-up as well as an application to assure that our prices were one on one aligned with monthly changing mandatory pricing (Z-Index).

Marketing analyses as well as marketing support for Medical (homecare) devices.

Translation of customer needs related to medical equipment in requirement specifications. Initiate and manage technical developments accordingly. Furthermore intensive sales and marketingsupport was applied in the Netherlands as well as abroad (far-east). Productrange comprised of Anesthesia and baby ventilators as well as incubators, Anesthesia systems, gas delivery and surgical (coalgulation) equipment.

Providing Technical solutions and support for the Europe based customers of Toshiba Medical Systems. The systems incorporated MRI scanners, CT scanners, conventional X-ray systems and Nuclear Medicine systems.As EMI specialist I was engaged with solving on site interference problems to assure proper functioning of the medical imaging devices, thus enabling correct diagnosis.

System Designer of the user control system for a C-arc X-ray system. The design method of Hadley and Pirbhai was used to arrive at the appropriate Control and Data Flow Diagrams.The user control system was designed based on requirement specifications from different disciplines like industrial design, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering as well as human factor considerations . Latter to assure correct and intuitive human interaction with the X-ray system.

Technical specialist / developer of MRI systems. In particular development of (passive) shimming methods for magnetic field corrections was carried out. The necessity of this development was initiated by the fact that due to environmental circumstances Magnetic fields in MRI scanners were deformed thus yielding poor image quality.On site corrections were implemented in European as well as USA based hospitals in sometimes extremely challenging situations.

During military service I worked as a technical specialist on radar tracking systems in use within the Royal Dutch Navy. These multi target tracking devices were used to track multiple targets simultaneously. By developing improved signal to noise techniques, fast algorithms for track calculations as well as innovative software based sampling methods, performance of these systems was increased drastically.
