Working on expanding the company's succesful Retail Service system into the Dutch market. Aimed at bigger brands and medium Franchise dealer networks.

In this job with NLR (Dutch National Aerospace Laboratory) I did marketing strategy, communication and international cooperation for the civil aerospace industry. Teaming up with sales and communication managers I positioned NLR’s R&D services and facilities internationally. Acting as point of contact with authorities I coordinated a large number of R&D projects.

At KLM Maintenance, I was responsible for marketing, sales support and communication. I re-positioned and revamped the klm-em.com website and coordinated various marketing events (fairs, customer events, development, planning). I automated, analyzed and presented customer research and was involved in Business Development support and Strategy. I initiated and planned successful events and gave guest lectures at Universities.

At KLM Brand Management I was a senior specialist responsible for innovation and benchmark-ing. I supported product managers with innovation, initiated product development, prototypes and product market tests, together with operations. Examples of innovative projects were revolutionary fleet / revenue concepts, seating and entertainment concepts and new lounge concepts. I also did extensive research on product developments by competitors to understand how to tune KLM’s offerings in the international market place.

In KLM’s Brand Management technical product development department I was responsible for product specifications and creating business cases and investment proposals. The projects I ma-naged were executed by multi-disciplinary project teams across the company. Projects included a flight information system and inseat power for new Boeing aircraft and a personal video system and business class seats for a large part of the KLM fleet. (E20 million project).

During and after my graduation I worked as a business analyst for a Quality Assurance depart-ment. My job consisted of modeling business processes, creating quality manuals and reviewing logistic and organizational processes. I made proposals for process improvements in logistics and planning processes for cabin crews (BPR, Business Process Redesign).

In the 1988-1995 period I worked as a trainee / thesis student with Delft Technical University (pro-gramming flight simulator), KLM Line Maintenance (Maintenance planning) and Dutch Navy Air force (engine testing) for 15 months.
