UF develops projects for Carbon Dioxide Removal by driving the stems of spruce trees into the ground of saturated delta soils in a high density that can subsequently be used as the foundation for bio based building. The trees are harvested from PEFC certified forests.

In the fields of tourism, culture and urban development I have a good track record. As a consultant I provide ‘urban solutions’ and as a producer, I sometimes implement them as well. De overheid is er voor de wet en de handhaving. Burgers regelen onderling wat niet in wetten is vastgelegd. De overheid mag burgers betrekken bij het maken van de wetten; dat noemen we participatie. Maar de overheid moet zich niet met burgerschap bemoeien. In de stad is het vrije individu de norm. Daarmee onderscheidt het zich van het platteland waar gemeenschapszin en nabuurschap de burgers bindt. In de stad mag je je binden, maar het hoeft niet. Je mag je inspannen voor je buurt, maar je bent geen slechte burger als je dat niet doet.Wat mag je dan wel van elkaar verwachten als vrije stedelingen? Met die vraag houdt de stichting Burgers van Rotterdam zich bezig, vanzelfsprekend zonder subsidie of bemoeienis van de overheid. Een bescheiden start werd mogelijk gemaakt door het departement Rotterdam van 't Nut.We maken een trage start, maar je gaat er zeker meer van horen.

De deelgemeenten in Rotterdam zijn opgeheven. Vanaf 7 april 2014 zijn er gebiedscommissies die het gemeentebestuur adviseren. Ik ben nu een van de dertien leden die zijn gekozen om de ruim 30.000 bewoners en de duizenden ondernemers van het centrum te vertegenwoordigen. Alle leden komen van lijsten die ook in de gemeenteraad vertegenwoordigd zijn; Bas van Tijn en ik doen dat voor de VVD. Wij zijn bereid de komende vier jaar het belang van de vrije stedelingen te dienen die er voor gekozen hebben om in het centrum te wonen om alle voorzieningen binnen handbereik te hebben: prettig wonen, werk, studie, winkelen, cultuur, uitgaan... De veeleisende stedeling en de ondernemers moeten gekoesterd worden want zij zijn de dragers van een grootstedelijk klimaat dat bezoekers en personeel aantrekt uit een ruime omgeving.

De verkiezingen zijn over. We hebben in het centrum van Rotterdam 17% van de stemmen gehaald. Ik ben dus de komende vier jaar weer lid van de gebiedscommissie. Ik blijf mij inzetten voor de inwoners van het centrum die willen genieten van alles dat het centrum te bieden heeft zonder overlast en zonder over hun schouder te hoeven kijken.

Het Team Politiek Rotterdam doet in het Pinksterweekeind van 2019 voor de zeventiende keer mee aan de Roparun. Wethouders, raadleden, gebiedscommissieleden en ambtenaren die de politiek ondersteunen van alle partijen liepen van Parijs naar Rotterdam. Acht lopers doen non stop binnen 48 uur een estafette van 565 kilometer, begeleid door fietsers, naar de route gebracht door chauffeurs en in vier basiskampen verzorgd door koks en een masseur. Dat doen we om geld op te halen voor uitbehandelde kankerpatiënten die een waardig levenseinde verdienen. Je zou in theorie veel meer kunnen ophalen als je geen kosten hoefde te maken om dat team van vijfentwintig politici langs het traject te voeren, maar sponsors willen inspanningen zien. Hoe meer afzien en lijden, hoe meer geld. Mijn rol is al drie jaar het verzorgen van de logistiek om iedereen op het juiste moment op de juiste plaats te krijgen. Onder voorzitterschap van teamleider Judith Bokhove (Wethouder GroenLinks) maak ik deel uit van het kernteam.

From December 2007 till November 2012 I served as secretary of the committee and am now a member specializing in the trend of peoples and tribes to strive for self determination which is the main source of tensions and violent conflicts around the world today. The Programmaraad Rotterdam decides on behalf of the people who receive cable radio and television through UPC in the Rotterdam area which channels should be obligatory for a minimum standard of media pluriformity. The chairman and the membres are appointed by the City Council of Rotterdam.

The City of Rotterdam (600,000 inhabitants) has a City Council of 45 elected members and thirteen sub-councils for parts of city. The City Center (30.000 inhabitants and 80.000 employed) was run by City Hall until Jan 1st 1995 when an Advisory Council was installed based on the political division by the latest elections. At that time I was an active member of D66, one of the two liberal parties, and was appointed leader of our fraction of two of the eleven members of the Advisory Council. As the other parties would not accept the usual candidacy of the biggest party (PvdA) for the position of chairman, my unusual candidacy was accepted as a temporary solution for a period of six months, which turned out to be over four years when I decided not to be a candidate for the March 1999 elections. Shortly after that I decided to join the VVD, the liberal party that better fit my liberal principles of individual freedom and responsibility.
