CurrentDairy Campus: centre for innovation, research and education:Dairy Campus aims to be the national catalyst place for inspiration, innovation and dynamic development for the dairy sector. Within Dairy Campus, organizations like Wageningen University & Research, Wageningen Livestock Research, Van Hall Larenstein & Nordwin Collkege (education), RUG Campus Fryslan, dairy processor FrieslandCampina, farmers organization LTO and Dairy Training Center (DTC) are co-operating in such a way that organizational qualities and expertise’s are connected and strengthened. The ambition of Dairy Campus is to integrate research with education and knowledge dissemination in order to initiate innovations in the Dutch dairy sector. This is done in close connection with dairy farmers and enterprises in agricultural business including the supply and processing industry. Besides being a national center with facilities, Dairy Campus aims also to be the virtual platform for agricultural research, innovation, education, training and development of entrepreneurship among dairy farmers. Research, education, innovation, knowledge transfer and training activities are linked with each other and with stakeholders from the whole dairy chain. The ambition of Dairy Campus is to be one of the leading international knowledge and innovation centres for dairy livestock. Besides being a virtual centre, plans are developed to build a complete infrastructure with a research and innovation farm, education, training en dissemination facilities where researchers, teachers, students farmers and business representatives can meet, work together and share expertise and knowledge. The center located in Leeuwarden has approximately 550 high yielding dairy cows. Our cows produce data.
