As a Design Team Lead, I researched and executed design decisions for the team academic capstone project in collaboration with Caterpillar INC.. I used my knowledge of material properties and biomimicry to design a large structural component which was 5% lighter than the base model. My team and I also incorporated opportunity management principles, and transitioned to an off-the-shelf system which could be scaled to suit other haul trucks. During this time, my key responsibilities were as follows: - Designed a structural component for Caterpillar large haul trucks using CAD software. - Performed Finite Element Analysis on structural assembly using ANSYS WorkBench. - Held team design meetings and made executive decisions to incorporate design features. - Used standard decision-making processes to complete product development. - Prepared and delivered design reviews to sponsor and stakeholders throughout development. - Incorporated an innovative design strategy that could be scaled for use in other equipment.

During my time as a Calculus Tutor, I planned and led review sessions to reinforce class material for large groups. I also taught students prioritization techniques and assisted professors in administrative duties. I wrote, administered, evaluated, and adjusted weekly practice exams, and used the results to advise professors on student understanding. As a flight engineer, I was responsible for the safety of my crew and aircraft. I ensured that aircraft in the fleet were consistently "mission-ready", and performed in-flight maintenance in addition to mission planning and execution. Administratively, I was the primary trainer for no fewer than three crew chiefs at any time. I also performed trainee evaluations, and process improvement for tasks outside of the company's normal areas of expertise.- Performed daily Quality assurance checks on fleet of 16 aircraft. - Maintained equipment and aircraft operation rate of at least 80% in a high tempo environment.- Applied exceptional mechanical aptitude to both identify and solve problems. - Applied critical thinking skills to perform emergency maintenance whenever necessary. - Scheduled regular maintenance events with all back-shops for fleet of 16 aircraft. - Performed and logged all minor maintenance events in accordance with FAA and DOD regulations.- Advised Pilot in command on hydraulic, electrical, fuel, structural, and power-train operations. - Trained 26 crew chiefs and other personnel to perform essential functions.

As a maintainer (or mechanic) I was responsible for in-depth aircraft maintenance throughout the fleet. I regularly ensured that all necessary inspections were done within an appropriate amount of time. I also worked as part of a team to perform large scale tasks required for proper operation of CH-47 helicopters.
