Teaching entry-level US History survey courses for first-year students in interdisciplinary STEM dual enrollment Ocean Research College Academy (ORCA) program. Developing curriculum, planning lessons, providing direct instruction, facilitating discussions, designing assessments, evaluating student work, holding one-one-one conferences, advising student research, mentoring students through college applications, and using measurable data to track progress towards goals.Fostering an inclusive learning community that honors diverse experiences using student-centered, anti-racist and culturally responsive pedagogies. Supporting social and emotional learning, cultivating growth mindsets, encouraging goal-setting and reflection, and scaffolding assignments to ensure equitable outcomes.Collaborating with ORCA faculty across disciplines to align deadlines, monitor individual student progress throughout the program, and share professional development and funding opportunities. Utilizing digital platforms like Zoom, Teams, Canvas, Discord, FlipGrid and VoiceThread to enhance student engagement and rigor in learning. Using Canvas and ctcLink systems proficiently, including certification in online teaching (Fall 2021) and teaching an online course (Winter 2022).
