My role consists of the following areas of responsibility;- Reactive maintenance within budgeted expenditure. A key responsibility of my role is to monitor the budget and ensure that a variation is submitted for any additional works required. Once approved, I am responsible for negotiating with suppliers, ordering materials, scheduling the job and ensuring punctual completion of the works, with limited defects.- Quoting project works up to $600,000. To prepare accurate quotes I often attend site visits, meet with the relevant trades and contractors, gaining the best price through negotiation and utilising existing relationships. I am able to compile detailed scope of works including accurate costings, to support the client in making an informed decision.- Tendered works for both government and private organisations for regular maintenance and project works. I complete site visits with the relevant trades and contractors, achieving the best prices through utilisation of professional relationships and negotiations.During my time at DCFM I have worked to very tight deadlines and ensured all parties involved adhered to health and safety/compliance regulations required for each project. Construction and installation of a Modscape home occurs within 12 weeks and all homes are fabricated to completion prior to leaving the factory. These tight time frames require strict adherence to the schedule and high quality standards. Each design is unique and therefore a deep understanding of architectural designs is required in addition to setting-out capabilities. Around 40% of work is for commercial applications with projects in excess of $3 million.Working example: During the construction of a double story home I am responsible for setting out to the dimensions on the architectural plans, this extends to working out and building stairs within regulations. I am responsible for the locating and installing of walls, doors, windows, floors, services and fixtures and fitting throughout. I have to ensure all trades work together effectively and keep to the schedule provided to ensure deadlines are met timely, while ensuring work is carried out safely and remains in perfect condition for handover.
