Profile bio

About Keisha Wright

I am a highly creative, innovative, intuitive and dynamic professional with over 10 years experience in the public sector. With a multi-disciplinary background in International Relations and Psychology as well as International Criminology, I have been fortunate enough to have had opportunities that utilized all academic areas. At the heart of my experiences have been the desire to thrive for excellence while improving, restoring and where necessary, reconstructing lives along the way. To this extent, I take pride in knowing that I contributed to coordinating meaningful cross border (both regional and international) projects that resulted in reduced crime rates in multiple countries within the Caribbean region. I am particularly pleased as well, with the opportunity I had, to impact community risk levels in Jamaica where I co-designed and developed programs, projects and policies geared towards improving lives of at-risk youths, their families, communities and vulnerable populations; and thoroughly enjoyed the process of objectively monitoring and evaluating their implementation and impact. All whilst navigating the dynamic cultures and bureaucracies associated with the public sector. Amidst it all, I basked in the fun of engineering, conceptualizing and appraising programs while also enjoying collaborating with international donor agencies, managing and engaging stakeholders; developing and operationalizing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); designing communications content and strategies as well as the opportunity to exercise some of my own creative passions with the leading of successful event planning and mobilization for local and international conferences of over 1000 guests including implementation of budgeting, logistics, hospitality, communication among other event needs. I look forward to applying my previous knowledge alongside my new discipline in Global Business Management to the business environment. I am a team player and had the noblest of opportunities to demonstrate this by rebuilding a dying legitimacy and morale of a small team which I lead, which after only one year of my leadership had began to show the sparkle in their eyes again; gleaming with purpose and drive to excel. Above all else, I am guided by the Ubuntu philosophy "I am because you are" as we are all inextricably connected and cannot exist in isolation. The rapid spread and conjoined implications of the COVID-19 virus is a testament of this. I volunteer whenever I can, I enjoy music, singing and the visual, creative and performing arts.
