Keisha Rae Witherspoon is a Miami-based writer/director and co-founder of Third Horizon Film Festival. Her most recent film "T" premiered at BlackStar 2019 where it won the audience award for best short, then screened at Sundance and Berlinale (where it won the 2020 Golden Bear for best short film). She is a 2022 USA Fellow, one of Filmmaker Magazine's "25 New Faces of Independent Film” (2020) and the inaugural winner of the Lynn Shelton 'Of A Certain Age' grant. Keisha's work is fueled by an interest in mythology, fantasy and science, and the natural environment, as well as a desire to reveal more nuanced and imaginative images of diasporic folks. She is currently co-writing a black sci-fi set in Miami. This will be her feature directorial debut.Keisha is managed by 2AM.
