Member of the Base OS NPI and Sustaining. Enabling the HGX and DGX systems to run with Linux distros such as Ubuntu, RedHat, and SLES, and to support both internal validation teams and external customers. Debugging and troubleshooting various kernel, driver and package issues on the HGX and DGX systems.

Develop automation and tools to assist with the image lifecycle management of SUSE’s public cloud images. Tasks include CVE and periodic image updates, deprecating and deleting outdated images, and updating the published image database. Provide support and development for the SUSE Distribution Migration System, which enables customers using SUSE’s public cloud images to upgrade from SLE-12-SP5 to SLE-15. Integrate required packages and scripting to create CIS certified public cloud images. Provide support of various lab resources in the a 3PAR storage system and an OpenStack Ironic cloud used by members of the SUSE engineering organization. Create and deliver Tech Talks, Linux troubleshooting, and Public Cloud image building courses for the SUSE engineering and support teams. Participate in the SUSE mentor program to share my knowledge of the SUSE ecosystem with new engineers.

Provide level 3/4 engineering support for SUSE OpenStack Cloud. Responsibilities include performing problem isolation, submitting upstream bug fixes, backporting existing patches, helping with installations and upgrades. Assist with QA and integration tests and documentation reviews. Participate in product beta testing while supporting SUSE beta customers and providing product usability feedback.Mentor and train SUSE internal and external partners on operating and troubleshooting OpenStack clouds. Contribute solutions to questions posted on various SUSE OpenStack Cloud forums. Presented several hands-on OpenStack troubleshooting workshops at OpenStack summits in Vancouver and Berlin, Denver, and Shanghai.

Provide engineering support for the HP Helion suite of cloud solutions. Responsibilities include performing problem isolation across the OpenStack components, assisting with installations and upgrades, providing training and mentoring and integration testing. Participate in product beta testing and provide feedback of product usability and user documentation.

Provide dedicated reactive support to HP Premier Service customers. Responsibilities include delivery of personalized technical service covering installations, upgrades, training, and implementation assistance. Support various components of the HP Software suite including Operations Manager, Operations Agents, Smart-Plug-Ins, Reporter, BSM/OMi, and SiteScope. Other activities include case reviews, patch analysis, customer presentations, and ER submissions. Assist with the hardware and software design and ongoing administration for several diagnostic labs. Labs include HP-UX, Solaris, AIX, Windows, Linux, VMware, HPVM, Hyper-V, Solaris Zones, KVM, and Xen servers. Configure HA servers using HP ServiceGuard, Veritas, VCS, Microsoft MSCS, and Redhat RHCS. Maintain Oracle and MSSQL databases. Participate in product beta testing and provide feedback of product usability and user documentation. In a SME role, provide product training to fellow engineers on various products and technologies. Publish knowledge based documents for use in HP’s online support database.

Provided 24 x 7 world-wide telephone support for HP OpenView products including Network Node Manager, OVO, IT/Administration, Service Desk, Software Distributor, Customer Views, Performance Insight, Oracle-for-OpenView, SNMP, Smart-Plug-Ins, and MC/Service Guard. Responsibilities included problem isolation and resolution, product installation and configuration, and service request analysis and submittal.Administered HP-UX, Solaris, Netware, Linux, OS/2, and Windows NT/2000 servers which were essential in troubleshooting and duplicating customer problems. Provided training on Oracle, Network Node Manager, OVO, and other applicable subjects to fellow Response Center Engineers. Served as team mentor and assisted engineers to troubleshoot, identify, and resolve customer problems. Reviewed product support plans to ensure support needs of the Response Center were met.

Designed, installed, and customized Enterprise Network Management Systems using HP OpenView Network Node Manager/Interconnect Manager, HP Node Manager for Netware, HP Operations Center, HP Admin Center, Netlabs Nerve Center, Cisco Works, Legent Paradigm, Bay Networks Optivity, HP NetMetrix, HP EASE, and various other HP OpenView Solution Partner applications. Designed and configured WAN and LAN solutions consisting of HP 9000/800 servers and 9000/700 workstations, Cisco 7000/4000/2500 routers, HP AdvanceStack hubs and routers, Chipcom ONLine and ONCore hubs, Bay Networks hubs, and APC UPSs. Diagnosed WANs and LANs using the HP Network Advisor and Internet Advisor analyzers.Installed and customized internet servers including DNS, WWW, News, HP OpenMail, Sendmail, and Anonymous FTP services. Managed office network of HP-UX, Windows NT Advanced Server, Windows-for-Workgroups, Chameleon, MS-TCPIP, and eXceed/W.

Designed, implemented, and managed a TCP/IP WAN for data forwarding and control using HP 9000/700 series workstations, Cisco 7000/4000/2500 routers, various SNMP managed peripherals, and HP OpenView Network Node Manager. Developed various DOS/Windows 3.1 applications using Borland C/C++ and Microsoft Visual Basic. Installed and managed PC and Sun office network running SunOS, Windows NT Advanced Server, Windows for Workgroups, Windows NT, PC/TCP, Chameleon, PCXware, and eXceed/W. Supervised the production of a remotely controlled LF downconverter system. Designed various analog and digital sections including a PLL synthesized local oscillator, a system controller with a 87C51 embedded microcontroller, and a current regulated power supply. Wrote assembly code for the system controller using the Intel ICE 5100 emulation system. Managed the procurement of a Level 2 documentation package and the production of fifty units. Wrote the operating and maintenance manual using Wordperfect 5.1.
