Lifting Equipment ManagerHm Forces Oct 2008 - Sep 2014GermanyWorkshop & Inspections Manager - Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers - Oct 2008 Sep 2012• Managed busy workshop and responsible for prioritizing repair and preventative maintenance for fleet of 190 vehicles ranging from light trailers to 30 ton trucks, as well as inspecting/maintaining lifting equipment to LOLER/PUWER regulations.• Had the foresight to identify a major flaw with Lifting Equipment testing and inspection regime, approximately 2000 individual items including forklift / pallet trucks and hydraulic trolley jacks. • Initially tasked to observe the process already implemented and come up with a better solution to solve the shortfalls. • It was through determination and a diligent eye to detail subsequently articulating an alternate redesigned system including using the IT system we had in place and conducting a new data base. This was seen as a major success and was rewarded with the Commanding Officers (Managing Director) Commendation. • Whilst assigned to a Regiment in Germany as a Sergeant (Supervisor) and tasked with conducting Lifting Equipment Courses including Hydraulic Appliances. There was a massive shortfall across all Regiments within Germany of competent personal to carry out the required mandatory examinations of lifting equipment held within their Regiments. • This was completed over a short period and managed to qualify 36 Army personal trained competent to carry out examinations and completing the correct paperwork. • As a section Corporal (Team Leader) attended a Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) course at HMS Sultan after passing the course the head instructor asked if it was possible to train myself to become an Army instructor. Now fully qualified instructor on lifting equipment and have subsequently delivered numerous courses in UK and Germany.
