Act as technical lead for troubleshooting and operations. Monitor costs and recommend adjustments for cost reduction. Acted as the Owner’s Representative on a 6 MGD Surface Water Treatment Plant. Participated in conceptual development, Engineer selection, design and specification development, and Contractor selection. Develop capital projects related to wastewater and drinking water infrastructure improvements. Work includes project conceptualization, budgeting, regulatory approval, Engineer selection and overall project management activities. Recent projects include; $5 million wastewater nitrogen removal upgrade, $3 million clear well, $2.9 million wastewater and centrifuge system, $1.7 million centrifuge system, $1.1 million aeration upgrade and $0.75 million air scrubber. Oversee all compliance activities including Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and Clean Drinking Water Act programs. Specific programs include Storm water, Pretreatment, Wastewater, Air, Groundwater, and Drinking Water.Oversee the implementation of facility Environmental Management System (EMS) programs. Includes internal audit and program implementation. Act as the primary spokesperson to Government officials concerning Smithfield Environmental Programs, compliance issues, and permit negotiations.
